Hoo, those guys at that Flying Lab, they're always having fun, having parties and so on. Not content with playing loads of vintage games at the Game On exhibition, they also booked out a whole theatre to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Despite what John Scott Tynes says, I reckon they're all a bunch of SLACKERS!
Seriously though, the Lab in the Sky are beavering away like a bunch of beavers, only without the big teeth and flat tail (ok, so Aether does have them, but he doesn't count).
The recent developer journal published on MMORPG.com outlines all the latest developments in the Lab, including a new automation system thingy (technical term) which will allow them to produce more builds of the game by automatically performing mundane testing tasks.
Other things mentioned include new towns, new avatar objects and the conventions that PotBS is going to be at. Fun fun fun! |

Flying Lab's favourite mission story writer type bloke whose surname is an anagram of elbow has been locked in a partially flooded cellar by Releana of Sovereigns Gale and forced under pain of.. pain.. to answer questions.
These questions were about the mission system in Pirates of the Burning Sea. Between the screams and inane babble Reli could discern a few words, and those are available for you to see here.
A nice thorough interview, going through all the different ways missions - and loot obtained through them - will come into play, even going so far as to mention going through missions to put ports into contention. Interesting. |

Hooked on Gamers have written a preview of PotBS and it's up on thier website for your perusal.
The article's dated this year.. but to me it looks like there's a fair bit of old information in it - talks of switching Nation, talks of definitely using Steam (which is now only a maybe, according to devs).
So.. not much new info, no new screens.. but it's not bad. |

There's been a new log of developerness published onto the Flying Lab website. It's big, it's dynamic, it's revolutionary, it's frightening (well, not really). It's all about ship loss and how they've adjusted the game mechanics to take into account the player driven economy. It's a reasonably big devlog, and the forum thread discussing it is huuuge. If you haven't got time to seive through it all and just want the pertinent bits in bitesize chunks of goodness, just click below to read more. |

Ahoy, Lubbers!! The powers that be at the Lab in the Sky have allowed us to host the items of musical tunage that has been used as backing music in the trailers for Pirates of the Burning Sea! What Joy! So without further preamble, ado or pontification, here are the two chanties, available to you, our gentle viewer, totally fah-ree of charge!
The best way to download these tunes is through the torrents, because the speed you're likely to get through them will vastly outstrip that of the poor little mirrors. Aww, bless.
Tides of Fire - Adam Gubman & Jeff Kurtenacker (2.69 MB)
