Pirates of the Burning Sea Preview |

Just from the first impressions of the screenshots of Pirates
of the Burning Sea, it's clear that it's not cut from the same piece of
cloth as most other massively multiplayer games, even if just in the choice of
scenario. When you look beyond the visuals into the actual game mechanics,
however, it becomes clear that the differences are considerably more
substantial. |

Just a bit of an update of the latest news from the guys at the Flying Lab, including Aether's community update and some new pictures of a MASSIVE recently unveiled ship! Enjoy..
Well, here's what's been going on since the last news update:
First of all, Aether took a leaf out of our Jarvel's book and published a recap of what's been going on in the community recently, including the press mentioning PotBS being voted one of the most highly anticipated MMO titles of the year, highlights and updates of what's been going on with the user content, and other general updates of what's been happening in the community. Check it out!
Secondly, you might notice at the top of this page that we're now displaying the official news straight off the official Burning Sea site - yes, the Flying Lab is now RSS enabled! Check it out here.
Thirdly - and most impressively, FLS have unveiled the new Akella 104 gun ship of the line; here's a sneaky preview:

Check it out here and check out the news thread here. Do check it out; it's breathtaking. I want one.
Last of all, Augustus has written an article on the user content system for Yarr Radio., so if you're curious, check it out here. |

New Devlog - Misha - Beta Feedback |

New devlog by Misha is up!
After our longest beta session yet (4 hours on Friday), I compiled some of the comments from the resulting forum posts. Some are positive, some are ...suggestions. :) So far, our beta testers have been generous in their feedback, which we greatly appreciate. They've helped us track down several important bugs, given some fantastic suggestions, but mostly confirmed what we believed already – the art is terrific but more would be better and many game systems are off to a good start but need tuning and polish.
